General Physical Activity

General physical activity is any light activity you do throughout the day. This includes:

  • Walking

  • Gardening

  • Cleaning

  • Cooking

Make sure to avoid sitting for long periods of time. If you have an office job, or have to sit for a long time for any reason, try to get up and take a 5 minute walk every 30 minutes.

FACT – Sitting for too long increases your risk for many health problems, but mixing in standing and extra movement to your daily activities can lower this risk.
